![]() After that big plot event, you can't go back and explore the world until after the final boss and you start the epilogue, so you for sure want any main game missables done before then, besides "Every Present of Possibility" which should unlock in the final dungeon if you found everything prior.Īnother good reason for that particular backup save: Shortly after said big plot event, as I mentioned you can't go explore the world, but you also can't go fight anything, or access the equipment/inventory of anyone besides Hiro and Ruby until the boss fight for "Emperor of What Again?" is over with. The most important backup save you can make is probably right before the main game's "point of no return." As far as I know, this is right before activating the big plot event shortly after "Goddess of Lies," so as soon as you get that achievement is a good point for a backup save. If it helps, I can give exact numbers one should have in the achievement tracking info that would constitute having gotten everything for a given area in the main game. Of course, you COULD be missing something obtainable too, depending on how many you have left to find. So if it looks like you're missing 1-5 chests in an area when you've moved beyond it, don't freak out, you're not necessarily missing anything since there's going to be epilogue chests that won't be available until much much later. To add a bit to Ghal's advice regarding chests above, you won't unlock most of the chest-related achievements during the main game, in fact I think only one other besides "Every Present of Possibility" if you find everything. It's not as much of a challenge, but overall I recommend the Unworked patch for a smoother experience with fewer grinding roadblocks, not to mention all the other QoL changes compared to the USA release.Ĭouple tips for anyone making the journey through this one, regarding stuff I was most concerned about: I was worried about the level limits for achievements at first, but they turned out not to be a big deal at all I was quite a bit below the limit of the achievements for most of the game, and there were only two or three spots where I felt like I needed to grind out a few more levels to keep party members from keeling over to some of the nastier boss attacks. Having used the Unworked patch, I was surprised just how much easier most of the game was then I remember it being in the normal USA version. You’ll now have a retro-style scanline/CRT effect overlaying the game!Ĭheck out more shader recommendations in our RetroArch shaders guide. Thanks for the great set, was a lot of fun to go through this game again for the first time in ages, and with the various added challenges! It brought back fond memories of renting this game for ten days straight back in day before buying it, just absolutely glued to the game the whole time and becoming so invested in the characters and their world, needing to know what was going to happen next and wanting to see things resolved! Still holds up as one of the greatest RPGs ever, and criminally underappreciated. I tend to use zfast-crt.glslp as it’s a nice fast shader which doesn’t affect game performance
